Lake Norman Weather
has four distinct seasons, and gets plenty of rain and thunderstorms in the summer, with temperatures reaching the high 80s. Some snow is possible in winter, though temperatures are generally mild. Spring temperatures range 45-76F. Lake Norman can get hot and humid in midsummer, but is very pleasant in spring and fall. Precipitation is pretty evenly scattered throughout the year, with July usually being the wettest summer month. Some localized thunderstorms can be quite severe. Fall is the driest season, with comfortable humidity and temperatures ranging 64-82. Autumn is the ideal time to explore the western mountains of the state, when the foliage is at its most colorful. Western North Carolina has the highest mountain peak east of the Mississippi, Mt. Mitchell, at 6,684 feet above sea level.
